John, I am a stylist that I think is stuck. I tend to use like a thousand foils to create a blonde that has demension. Can you help me to find a different approach to developing a faster method?
Oh come on, 400 foils don't get you excited? LOL! This seems to be the most common of our coloring world, the more the better and dimension dimension dimension!!!! UGHH!
My favorite way to approach this blond shadowed canvas is in the technique, try not to work in a rectangular "box". This does not allow the color to travel and blend. If this is the case may find yourself placing more foils by self creating what I call " shadow alleys". This is the natural being exposed by the parietal ridge and the contours of the head and makes it appear darker and hiding your dimension.
Try taking a diagonal section that spreads like an arrow to the temporal on each side. di sect into 3 sections within and then diagonally place the foils in each section. This will add new design and decrease the amount of foils while showcasing your dimension. To make this a "full" head design, take the same arrow position from the crown to nape and then crown to ear and hairline. Visit my "press" section and you can find the technique. I hope you enjoy and come back to WWJSD and the site to continue inspiration or to say hey! j
